Software engineering · elHra Ltd

We build the software your business runs on.

elHra is a software engineering company. We design, build and look after systems that have to keep working — when they are busy, when they are examined, and long after launch.

What we do

Software, start to finish

We take a system from the first sketch to a running service, and stay accountable for it once it is live.

Custom software

We build what your business needs and nobody sells off the shelf: shaped around how you actually work, and built to outlast one budget cycle.

Cloud and operations

We set up and run the environments your software lives in, so releases are routine, capacity follows demand, and nobody is woken at night by something avoidable.

Web applications

Quick, dependable applications your customers and your staff use every day, working properly on whatever device they arrive on.

Connecting systems

We join up the tools, partners and data your business already relies on, so information moves without anyone re-typing it.

Security and assurance

We make systems defensible: access controlled, records complete, and answers ready when a customer, insurer or regulator asks.

Support and improvement

Once something is live it needs looking after. We watch it, maintain it and keep improving it — whether we built it or you inherited it.

Selected work

What that looks like in practice

Three engagements, described without the client names. The same pattern each time: understand the real constraint, change what matters, leave the team able to carry on.

Growing without the growing pains

Context
A consumer business was outgrowing the system it started on. Busy periods meant slow pages, worried staff and a queue of complaints.
What we did
Rebuilt the parts that could not keep up, separated the work that had been competing for the same resources, and made every action safe to repeat if a customer pressed the button twice.
Outcome
Busy periods stopped being an event anyone had to plan around, and the same team now makes changes without booking downtime.

Releases that stopped being risky

Context
Every release was a manual, late-night exercise, and no two environments quite matched, so problems appeared only after going live.
What we did
Described the whole setup in code so any environment can be rebuilt from scratch, and automated the path from an approved change to a live one.
Outcome
Releases take minutes and happen in daylight. A new environment is now a request rather than a project.

Expertise that stopped being a bottleneck

Context
One small team held knowledge everyone else queued for. New work waited on a handful of people, and none of it was written down.
What we did
Packaged that expertise into tools and plain instructions other teams could use on their own, with the safeguards built in rather than remembered.
Outcome
Teams that used to wait now deliver by themselves, and the original team went back to the work only it can do.

How we work

Four steps, no mystery

You should know what happens next at every point, and be able to stop after any step with something useful in hand.

  1. Scope

We start from your constraints, not our preferences. A short first pass produces a written statement of the problem and the few decisions that genuinely matter.

  2. Plan

You get the approach in writing before anything is built: what we will do, what we deliberately will not, and where the risk sits.

  3. Build

We deliver in small steps you can see and use, checking each one as it lands instead of saving it all until the end.

  4. Support

We hand over documentation and stay reachable. You should be able to run what we build without us — and call us when you would rather not.

Tell us what you need.

Send a short description of the problem. You will get our honest read on it, including if we think we are not the right people for it.
